“Mixtapes hails from Cincinnati, Ohio and formed in 2010. After some rough times in their personal lives Ryan Rockwell and Maura Weaver started writing songs together for fun with the idea to make a record and play some local shows. They recorded their debut album “Maps” and released it for free on Death To False Hope Records in early 2010. Since then they have consistently released music (48 songs in the past year and a half) and toured any and everywhere they can. They released two 7 inches and one LP on Animal Style Records, a split with Direct Hit! on Kind Of Like Records, and multiple free EP’s. Now with their signing to No Sleep the band is starting to record it’s first official full length album. People can surely expect the band’s sarcastic sense of humor, lots of shit talking, and a ton of songs and touring. Mixtapes just wants to be your friend.”.
